Columbus Regional Airport Authority Senior Procurement Specialist in Columbus, Ohio

Columbus Regional Airport Authority is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist who wants to "Land Your Next Career"!  This position is responsible for developing and managing various types of solicitations, mitigating risk through contract creation, handling contract negotiations and ongoing contract administration to ensure the best value for CRAA. The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational and analysis skills and have familiarity with current product and service market offerings, suppliers, and procurement trends.

The Columbus Regional Airport Authority manages and operates passenger-focused John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), cargo-focused Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK), and general aviation airport Bolton Field (TZR).

Your "Take Off" will be successful by doing the following with excellence:

  • Develop and manage complex competitive solicitations for the purchase of related goods and services, which includes but is not limited to identifying relevant requirements, preparing solicitation documents, evaluating bids and proposal responses, managing selection teams, stakeholders, and project schedules, and negotiating resulting contract awards with vendors.
  • Approve decentralized purchases made by other departments, including purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and polices and negotiating or re-negotiating contractual terms with vendors.
  • Manage documents in accordance with records retention polices and respond to public record requests and vendor disputes.
  • Develop operational procedures governing the disposal, transfer, and reutilization of personal property and equipment, designates surplus supplies, and oversees their selling, trading, or disposal.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contractual terms, conditions, and pricing to establish contracts.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting activities related to Business Diversity.
  • Assist in the development of and presentation of training related to procurement and contracting.
  • Utilize relevant systems for creation, processing, approval, reporting, and tracking of procurement related matters.
  • Perform related work as required.

Your "Landing" will be smooth if you meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Procurement or Contract Management, or a related field and a minimum five (5) years of experience purchasing/procurement and leading the negotiation of terms and conditions, or equivalent education and years of experience
  • Experience supporting IT Procurement process a plus
  • Certified Public Procurement Buyer (CPPB) certification preferred
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to procurement and contract administration
