As a Product Associate in Global Technical Security, you will play a crucial role in supporting the product development process and contributing to the discovery of innovative solutions. Working closely with the product management team and cross-functional partners, you contribute your skills and insights to help ensure the success of our product offerings to further technical solutions to Global Security. The high-energy Product Associate role in Retail Technical Security is a position of trust that requires strong critical thinking, decision-making, independent initiative, and curiosity to learn and grow perfect for a self starter who exhibits intellectual curiosity. The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities that span people, process, and technology, and is accountable to GS Product Directors and Product Owners as primary stakeholders. A successful candidate will be able to synthesize security industry trends, map innovative or emerging technologies to business and customer needs, clearly communicate benefits and ROI, provide tours and demonstrations to senior leaders and support piloting of new and existing Technical Security hardware and software solutions. Occasionally, this will include hands-on assembly of demonstration environments or installation and mounting of security components to test. This role requires strong project management skills navigating through tollgates of ideation, funding, planning, execution and closing of a project.

This role requires work in ambiguous environments where you can expect general strategy and direction to be shared, but tactical prioritization, motivation, and delivery responsibility is delegated to the Product Associate

Job responsibilities

  • Supports the development of our product strategy and roadmap

  • Collects and analyzes metrics on product performance to inform decision-making

  • Contributes to solution discovery through collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify potential solutions that address user needs and align with business goals

  • Participates in product planning sessions, contributes ideas and insights, and assists in the execution of product initiatives, ensuring timely and successful product launches

  • Collaborates with the product manager to engage stakeholders and define user workflows, requirements, stories, and customer value

  • Manages multi-million dollar projects to deliver in support of major Technical Security initiatives across the firm, tracking key dates, progress and executive level presentations on benefits, business cases and funding.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 2+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management, project management, or a relevant domain area

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or technology related field or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of the product development life cycle

  • Exposure to product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition

  • Emerging knowledge of data analytics and data literacy

  • Outstanding communications and presentation skills, both written and oral

  • The ability to influence others and maintain strong working relationships across multiple stakeholders and multiple lines of business

  • Self starter who is able to work with minimal direction and think critically, asking questions for clarity along the way

  • Must possess intellectual curiosity

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of physical security technology systems (Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection, etc)

  • Experience implementing controls for information security or technology environments

  • Basic knowledge of agile methodologies of software development
