JPMorgan Chase Principal Software Engineer - Executive Director in Columbus, Ohio

As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking line of business, you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of a small production engineering team to usher in a new era of incident management practices based on the "you build it, you run it" philosophy. Leverage your advanced technical capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes across various technologies to support one or more of the firm's portfolios.

Job responsibilities

  • Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within your domain of expertise

  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert

  • Consults with engineering teams across the line of business to promote operational excellence in the new production engineering model

  • Contributes to the development of change control reporting deriving metrics from incident data

  • Creates processes that will assist in lowering relevant mean time to incident resolution

  • Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams

  • Evangelize the "you build it, you run it" incident management philosophy across the entire business line

  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Expert in one or more programming language to include the Java Stack and microservices development best practices.

  • Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge of incident management best practices

  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines

  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager

  • Ability to present and effectively communicate with Senior Leaders and Executives

  • Understanding of the business

  • Practical cloud native experience, specifically AWS

  • Experience matrix management techniques

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS certification
