Description First Merchants Bank is seeking an Operational Risk Officer to join our team! This position will update and manage key programs of the Bank's Operational Risk Management (ORM) Program. This includes, but is not limited to, Key Indicator Program, New/Revised Products and Services Risk Assessment, Enterprise Risk Management / Dashboard Reporting. As part of this role you will: Manage the Key Indicator (KRI/KPI) Program for the bank, which includes but is not limited to: Actively manage the Key Indicators (KIs) annual review process in collaboration with risk stripe and line of business owners that includes the documentation of new, modified, or retired KIs. Ensure proper documentation of KIs and serve as an effective 2nd line challenge to the business units. Manage the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Reporting Module and the KRI/KPI Module within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform. This would include review, update, and revision of the current methodologies, ensuring the platform is constructed to bring efficiency and effectiveness for all users. Manage assigned Management/Dashboard Reports, which includes but is not limited to: Updating and documenting key risk and performance indicators, limits, and thresholds, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the appropriate management committees such as the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. Collaborate with Executive and Senior Management, as well as the Line of Business managers on changes to policy, procedures and processes that impact the ERM Management / Dashboard Reports and/or Key Indicators (KPI/KRI) Management Program. Provide analysis of risk trends and comparisons of risk indicators to established risk limits and thresholds - coordinating with risk owners to understand drivers and root cause of trends - and incorporate conclusions into the ERM Reports. Assist in the management of the New/Revised Products and Services Risk Assessment for the enterprise as delineated in the program document impacting all relevant projects. Assist in the ERM Working Group activities, initiatives, and deliverables as assigned. Participate in the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Governance Cycle requirements. Collect data on economic, market, peer, and industry trends to assist in identifying potential emerging risks to the bank. Remain abreast of regulatory requirements and mature industry practices relating to enterprise risk management. Assist in development/oversight of key operational risk programs as assigned. In order to be successful in this position, we require the following: Bachelor's degree in business or related field OR associate degree/ two years of college + two (2) years of related work/military experience OR four (4) years of related work/military experience (plus any additional required experience). A minimum of three (3) years working in the Risk Management environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. The following would be a plus: CERP or CRCM designation. Experience using RSA Archer.
