June and July off from this role (and will work 5 days/week during the academic year).Part-time, 32 hours/week, Eligible for Full-time Benefits, Minimum pay is $18.59/hourThe LPN assists in providing services to schools that work toward the good health and wellness of students and the improvement of health conditions in general. Performs professional nursing duties as defined by Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Ohio Department of Health and in accordance with acceptable nursing practice guidelines. A Place to Be ProudResponsibilities* Staffs the school clinic and attend to students' health care needs.* Administers first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.* Dispenses, records, and administers medications according to school policy, under supervision of an RN.* Receives and carries out orders from medical doctors.* Reports student related health problems to an RN.* Maintains student health records, including immunizations.* Assists in setting up school clinic space and end of year duties.* Maintains clinic cleanliness and supply inventory.* Under the directions of an RN, performs required state screenings.* Acts as a liaison between the home, the school and the health care provider.QualificationsEducation: Must be a graduate of an approved school of practical or vocational nursing.Licensure: Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio.Certifications: Current CPR/AED certification.Skills:- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Demonstrated competence in specified nursing care.- Positive, effective, and age appropriate skills when working with patients, families, physicians and other health care team members.- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.- Experience 1+ years of pediatric experience preferred.Note: Regular, reliable and consistent attendance is an essential job function.
