JPMorgan Chase Lead Software Engineer - Python and Angular in Columbus, Ohio

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

This opportunity is within the data analytics and reporting team within Consumer & Community Banking(CCB). Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves nearly 80 million consumers and nearly 6 million small businesses, with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. The team produces insights into health of Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) applications based on data analytics, advanced algorithms and AI/ML models. It identifies errors, anomalies, trends, forecasting, customer feedback & sentiments and report them across Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) to ensure best customer experience.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture

  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience

  • Advanced knowledge of application architecture, design principles, CI/CD and best practices.

  • High proficiency in developing Python based applications and knowledge of Python data analytics libraries.

  • Proficiency in Angular framework, Node, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS

  • Experience with web services implementation using REST API

  • Database skills to be able to design and develop databases strategically

  • Experienced with software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement in an Agile environment

  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

  • The role does not have direct reports but candidate is expected to mentor junior members of the team.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working in data analytics, AI, ML environment is a strong plus.

  • Skills with BI reporting tools such as Qlick Sense, Tableau will be nice to have.

  • Proficiency working in cloud environment AWS is desirable
