Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and building some of the first positive relationships a child will have in the world?  Come join Perkins' Playhouse & Learning Center INC., we have been providing quality childcare for over 30 years! * Also, we are a Star Rated 3 Center through Step Up to Quality* looking for a dedicated infant teacher to join our team!  As an Infant Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in the foundational development of our youngest learners.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Maintain frequent communication with parents through daily informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment---including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Take on ownership of the classroom but also provide a warm and nurturing environment.
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Preference given to candidates with a CDA in Infant/Toddler or an associate in early childhood education or related field. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED, one-year professional childcare experience and a strong understanding of child development.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, some computer skills, willingness to work as and lead a team.
  • Walk up and down stairs, stand and walk for an extended period of time throughout the day and be able to Lift 35-40 pounds.
  • Provide/ complete proof of education, a successful background check BCI & FBI, physical and shot record prior to the first day of employment.
