Job Summary

Battelle’s Defense & Material Solutions business line is seeking a IT Security Analyst with experience with the Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability’s (JMETC), the JMETC Secret Network (JSN) and the JMETC Multiple Independent Layers of Security Network (JMN). This position is contingent on program award.

As the Battelle Information Systems Security Manager for JMTEC, you will implement and enforce IT security policies & procedures and review IT security requirements across the JMETC architecture to determine impact to the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) test & evaluation infrastructure. This includes working on the Joint Training & Experimentation Network (JTEN, the Defense Research & Engineering Network (DREN) and the Secure DREN (S-DREN). You will be competent in the execution of RMF system requirements, be capable of identifying vulnerabilities and risks associated with experimental test & evaluation systems and networks. You will also be familiar with the Test & Training Enabling Architecture (TENA), distributed interactive simulations and live virtual-constructive test events executed on the JMETC infrastructure.

The desired position location is at our Columbus, OH office with flexibility to work remotely or from other Battelle and Client Offices within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages, System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports (RARs), Security Controls Traceability Matrices (SCTMs) and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) for classified systems & networks across all the services (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps).

  • Configure and validate information system compliance using DISA STIGs, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) and STIG Viewer.

  • Initiate and follow through to completion, Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for enterprise architectures in accordance with NISPOM/DAAPM, ICD 503/CNSSI 1253, JSIG, NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 requirements.

  • Establish and administer appropriate security systems, policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with applicable government and corporate directives, guidelines, and contractual obligations.

  • Develop engineering recommendations for certifying and accrediting identified capabilities for use across multiple test and experimentation capabilities & facilities including recommendations to improve interoperability and readiness with legacy systems within TRMC facilities and the Major Range Facility Test Base (MRFTB)

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related (i.e., Computer Science, Information Systems) field with 8 years of experience or master’s degree in related field with 5 years of experience or PhD with 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.

  • Must have 5 years of relevant experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).

  • Experience with Windows, LINUX operating systems and Active Directory.

  • Experience with NIST 800-53 and Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations.

  • Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) and STIG Viewer.

  • DoDD 8140 (8570.1-M) IAT Level 3 certification (e.g., CASP, CISSP, CISM) or ability to complete certification within the first 12 months of employment.

  • Active TS-SCI Clearance with ability to obtain SI/TK/G/HCS Controls and Special Access Programs and Special Access Required (SAP/SAR)
