Summary:

The IS Technical Specialist (Java Developer) provides technical and consultative support on the most complex technical matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, designs, and develops systems based upon user specifications.

  • Provides technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.

  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of and works with the technical tools available for systems development and support.

  • Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.

  • May assist with identifying training needs or with training of less experienced staff.

  • May serve as project leader for specific projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Description:

    We are looking for a Technical Specialist to work in our Enterprise Service Development team focused on leading, building and supporting Services development. Candidate should be able to managed multiple projects development concurrently, tasks includes creating detail designs, develop web services according to architecture standards and guidelines. Candidate will review existing business processes and establish metrics to improve business processes as well as support all development disciplines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java with knowledge of Object Oriented Design.

  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)

  • Experience with J2EE, Spring Boot, Web Services, REST API development and consumption

  • Agile development, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Knowledge of SQL and experience working with a RDBMS like Oracle or MySQL

  • Troubleshoot and debug applications

  • Experience with implementation of Microservices using Spring Boot and CI/CD tools on Jenkins and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with development of RESTful web services using JAX-RS and used Swagger for REST API documentation.

  • Build and maintain code repositories and code migrations using CI/CD strategies ( GIT, SVN, CSV , Jenkins ).

  • Experience with creating and maintaining architecture for Restful API using Spring Boot .

  • Hands on experience with writing SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers in databases via Oracle and DB2 .

  • Have used Swagger and API testing tools

  • Experience with data structures and algorithms for time and memory complexity reduction

  • Have experience with JWT mechanism for authentication, authorization, and data exchange.

  • Experience with Apache Maven Build tool to automate the build process for the entire application

  • Min 5+ yrs of IBM DataPower Gateway, WESB, IBM Integration Service Bus (IIB) with special focus in back end development building Web services and RESTful web services.

  • Knowledgeable with IBM MQ Websphere

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office experience

  • Experience working in multi-platform environment

  • Ability to balance both development and support roles

  • Experience in working on projects that involve business segments

  • Strong analytical, strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, focus on customer service, and the ability to work well with other IT, vendor, and business groups
