MIDWEST MOTOR SUPPLY CO HR Safety and Compliance Specialist in Columbus, Ohio

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a Safety & Compliance Specialist in the Human Resources Department for our Columbus, Ohio location. Responsibilities Maintain all Kimball Midwest policies and keeps in compliance with state and federal regulation, including law postings. Identifies and tracks laws and regulations. Coordinates general management, professionalism, and compliance trainings. Consults with the Workers' Comp insurance carrier to analyze and evaluate trends and potential safety issues. Coordinates accident investigations and handles Workers' Compensation claims. Controls loss from injuries, liabilities, and property loss. Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the new standard and safety practices. Ensure Covid protocol is up-to-date and communicated as needed. Manages associate trainings as required by local, state, and federal labor laws. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of Associates to manage risk and regulatory compliance. Evaluates practice, procedure, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the local, state, and federal laws. Leads all internal audits related to I-9 and other compliance related audits. Reviews legislation on paid sick leave and revises the sales policy as necessary. Qualifications 3+ years' experience in HR administration, HR safety or related field. Exerience in Employee Health & Safety ( EHS) preferred A SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification or Personal Development Plan to achieve one within 24 months. Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand written and oral instructions. This position requires working a minimum of 40 hours per week, the schedule can vary depending on need. Hours will typically be between the hours of 7am-6pm, Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days can be remote. Additional Information This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days can be remote.
