The In-house Service Technician is responsible for repairing about twenty different types of mechanical, electrical, electronic, optical, and computer assemblies. These are weather sensors, sensor displays, and sensor controllers from Non-federal airports around the country. The airports send us equipment as components fail in field, the equipment is repaired in our factory, and shipped back to the customer. Repairs range from simple cleaning and testing to complex component-level troubleshooting. Computers are repaired to the board level, while sensors and microprocessor-controlled sensor controllers are repaired to the component level. In addition, provide phone support for field technicians and DBT customer base, and communicate effectively within a fast-moving business. The service technician exhibits a sense of urgency, efficiency, can prioritize job-tasks and customer focus with a great amount of attention to detail. Provide, as well as coordinate, in-house warranty and non-warranty repair services. Track and monitor in-house repairs. This includes supporting other departments if needed. Manages accurate inventory level. Backup field service support as needed for trips both domestic and international. Assists customers, both internal and external, in isolating defects in the field or in-house by troubleshooting over the phone, primary for in-house repairs, or dispatching to the customer site. Performs Preventative Maintenance task per Contract and (SLA) Service Level Agreement as required. Generates and supports all technical documentation including trip reports, training documentation as needed, review of product manuals. Responsible for becoming familiar with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport policies, procedures and products. Responsible for becoming familiar with FAA Advisory Circulars and understand the AWOS industry and product lines. Responsible for communicating / promoting company image to AWOS industry during system installation and training. Upholds a standard of work performance, behaviors, and core values. Responsible for less than 10% travel including international is needed. The talent we want to inspire has.. Two (2) to four (4) years related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education. Two (2) to four (4) years of experience working as an in-house or field technician or related experience. Technology background with emphasis in electronics, software or computer systems Demonstrated knowledge of multiple ERP systems (SAP preferred), or keen ability to learn. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities. Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders, material requirements and assembly instructions. Self-driven, motivated learner that asks questions and seeks information one needs for success. Fluent English (oral and written communication skills). Possession of a valid driver's license.
