Position Overview: Prime AE Group is seeking a skilled Database Administrator & GIS Data Specialist to manage and enhance our data ecosystem, providing critical support in database administration, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), .NET and C# programming, and API integration. This role will play a key part in maintaining data accuracy, performing data normalization, and ensuring secure and efficient database operations. You will collaborate across teams to implement best practices, optimize workflows, and support our GIS and data-driven initiatives inside and outside the company. Primary Responsibilities: Database Administration: Design, implement, and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases to ensure data reliability, security, and availability in Cloud and on-prem solutions. Perform routine database maintenance, backups, recovery, and troubleshooting. Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and manage database scaling to meet growing demands. GIS Support: Support GIS data management, including data acquisition, validation, and spatial analysis. Integrate GIS data into our data ecosystem, supporting geospatial analyses for project and business needs. Assist teams in using GIS tools effectively to meet their project requirements. Data Ecosystem Management: Develop and maintain data standards, governance, and workflows for an efficient data ecosystem. Ensure data consistency and accuracy through data normalization and deduplication processes. Support data migration efforts and ensure interoperability between various systems. API Integration and Support: Manage API integrations to enable data sharing between internal systems and with third-party platforms. Troubleshoot and optimize API connections to maintain seamless and secure data exchanges. Collaborate with development teams to implement new API functionality as needed. Programming Support (.NET and C#): Utilize .NET and C# programming skills to support data management tasks, including the automation of data workflows and application support. Develop custom scripts and tools to facilitate data processing, enhance database operations, and support API functionality. Assist in building applications or modules for data management and GIS functions within the existing tech stack. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, or a related field; or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in database administration, GIS support, or related fields. Proficiency in MS SQL (Cloud offerings and on-prem), .NET, C#, and data normalization techniques. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including setup, configuration, and maintenance. Familiarity with GIS software (e.g. ESRI, ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial data standards. - Knowledge of Python or other programming languages for data manipulation preferred.
