General Motors Cross-Brand Portfolio Media Strategy Manager in Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of [Warren, MI, Austin, TX, or Mountain View, CA facilities], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

Overview

The Cross-Brand Portfolio Media Strategy manager is essential to enabling GM’s media strategy and investment approach across the enterprise. This role is a fantastic chance to shape how we execute media across our brands, helping our brands maximize reach to key consumers and achieve key business outcomes. You’ll play a key role in bringing together our media efforts into a cohesive approach that accommodates unique brand needs, underpinned by consistent enterprise practices. We're looking for a dynamic and proactive individual who can pull together different ideas and perspectives to make our media work as effectively as possible for each brand. Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to drive greater proactive cross-brand synergy in all aspects of media, from strategy and planning to investment

  • Work with brand media leads toensure media investments will deliver optimal reach to target audiences

  • Partner with cross-channel video lead to build and deliver corporate video investment strategy

  • Collaborate with GM research, audience, and analytics teams to ensure appropriate audience targets are in place for each brand, understanding potential overlaps and gaps

  • Work with audience lead to develop and optimize core targeting capabilities based on brand needs to help maximize reach across and within brands

  • Partner closely with internal measurement, test & learn, research, advanced analytics teams to ensure each brand is participating in relevant media testing and studies that will drive the business forward

  • Constantly look for new ways to push best practices across brands and scale learnings quickly

  • Play a leading role in the consolidation of cross-brand content and storytelling, building aggregate views and insights at a corporate level

  • Support the team leading the annual corporate marketing and media budgeting process

  • Ensure consistent approaches and ways of working are in place across all brands, improving speed to market and removing redundancies from everyday work

  • Work with leads from all channels to identify opportunities to ensure best practices and test and learn opportunities are fully scaled and implemented

Skills and Abilities

  • 7+ years’ experience in Media Planning, Strategy, or Activation

  • Solid understanding of all areas of media with familiarity with the various media platforms, technology, and processes

  • Ability to offer a clear POV and a strong rationale to defend position as the media center of expertise

  • Ability to prioritize and tie all media plans to support the business plan & core priorities

  • Ability to communicate strategy and plans effectively

  • A self-starter with the ability to think strategically

  • Experience leading a team

  • Experience working with or for media agencies

  • Strong offline and digital media experience

  • Excellence in PowerPoint and Excel

  • Excellent communication, presentation, co-ordination, and project management skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task across several diverse projects

  • Ability to occasionally work irregular hours

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is ($135,800-$208,100). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
