JPMorgan Chase Control Manager, Associate in Columbus, Ohio

We are seeing a dynamic and detail oriented Control Manager to join our team here at JPMorgan Chase.

As a Control Management Associate, on our QA team within Consumer and Community Banking, you will be an integral part of our team. You will have the opportunity to Conduct risk assessments to identify areas requiring detailed testing, participate in QA reviews, including developing testing strategies, leading and executing testing, analyzing results, communicating findings to management, and obtaining corresponding action plans, You will also be Working with LOB and functional QA teams to facilitate consistent risk assessment and testing approaches, and Participating in relevant governance forums and meeting regularly with Audit and Finance Control partners.

The objective of the Quality Assurance Team is to provide independent review and validation of external reporting processes and data to mitigate the risk of external reporting errors.

Department Description:

Finance Control Management within Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Controllers is responsible for several control initiatives and works closely with many areas across CCB. The group is involved with control initiatives relating to CCB that include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Quality Assurance (QA) Program

  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Control Program

  • Overall project management and coordination of the CCB Recovery and Resolution Plans (Living Wills)

  • Legal Entity Controllership

  • Coordination and documentation of the Quarterly Management Representation Letter and Control Affirmation process

  • Control Management

  • Other Control Initiatives and Programs like Data Management , User Tool and Intelligent Solution Governance and Controls

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design Intelligent Solutions for QA processes

  • Build Enhanced analytics program to support QA sampling methodologies

  • Support the CCB and cross LOB risk assessment to identify areas requiring detailed testing

  • Execute QA reviews in accordance to the standards and framework established by the Central Quality Assurance function

  • Identifying and communicating on QA identified exceptions and observations

  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships across CCB businesses and other control groups (i.e., risk management, compliance, legal, etc.)

  • Working closely with business and information technology colleagues across CCB as issues emerge and reporting them timely to management and other stakeholders

  • Developing recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency, where appropriate

  • Staying current with evolving industry and regulatory changes

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • 3+ years related experience

  • BS in Accounting or Finance

  • Knowledge of US Regulatory and SEC reporting requirements, external reporting control concepts, and/or financial services and related CCB products

  • Knowledge of, or direct experience in, external reporting related processes and controls

  • Ability to quickly understand complex subject matter and demonstrate critical thinking

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Python, Tableau, and SQL

  • Strong verbal and written communications

  • Ability to work in an evolving environment, managing multiple projects

  • possesses strong auditing skills, a strong understanding of internal control systems within a financial institution, and knowledge of the consumer businesses and products.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • CPA and /or MBA is preferred
