As a Senior Research Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting preclinical studies by executing functional outcomes that test drug efficacy and characterize animal models. You will collaborate with the Animal Outcomes Staff to perform various assessments and data analysis while ensuring the humane handling of rodents. This position is crucial in ensuring the success of multiple studies.

Pay: $25-$28/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform functional outcomes assessments (e.g., open-field, rotarod, grip strength, gait analysis, ECG, plethysmography).

• Support the setup and execution of outcomes, including quality control and data entry.

• Analyze data from various functional outcomes.

• Assist in maintaining and stocking inventory, as well as routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Study Protocols.

• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

• Handle rodents humanely and confidently.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a scientific field.

• Experience with laboratory animal handling and restraint techniques.

• Passion for animal welfare and working in a research environment.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.

• Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Ability to follow laboratory methods, SOPs, and verbal instructions.
