Design Director Position Overview Our client in the retail packaging industry is seeking a Design Director to join their team in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background with team leadership and 3D design skills within the retail or consumer packages goods industry. 

In this role, you will guide a talented team of 3D artists, 3D designers, and animators to bring bold ideas to life while ensuring excellence in visual storytelling and execution. This is both a leadership and hands-on position, where you'll get to work very closely with other 3D Designers and Artists.

This position is: 

• Remote, but would like this person to occasionally come to Cincinnati for on-site visits. 
• Ideal candidates located in CST & EST timezones
• Full-time, direct hire
• A leadership role with 7 direct reports 

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize highly creative packaging and digital designs as directed by the client in support of the overall brand and business objectives

Develop new ideas and creative concepts for a wide variety of projects that inspire customers 

Execute packaging development, digital materials, and other materials

Packaging to include: new packaging concept development, packaging optimization and adaptation, and PDP lineups

Digital materials include: E-commerce tile design/development, OOI creation, storyboard work and design direction for product videos

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal Creative, Adaptive and Production team members

Collaborate with Creative Director on brands while providing art direction to fellow team members 

Exercise project management skills to adhere to schedules and deadlines

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Director, 3D/CGI animation, motion design, or a related field
• Management experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Expert level skills with tools such as Cinema 4D (C4D) and Octane
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for collaboration.
• A strong portfolio showcasing successful design projects and leadership in previous roles.

Bonus qualifications: 

• Adobe Substance, Rizom UV, Adobe Premier, After Effects 
• Agency experience
