This is a job for a Production Engineering Specialist position with a company located in the Columbus, MS area. 

Job Description: Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Engineering Architect (Integration) to specify, design and integrate architecture and system functions on a variety of programs and on multiple platforms. (i.e. H125, H130, H135, H145 and H160 platforms). This position is located onsite in Columbus, MS.

Your Working Environment: On the eastern border of Mississippi you'll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It's here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your Challenges: Create, document, implement, and improve technical work instructions, based on design data, to describe the complete process required to manufacture, assemble, test, process, and deliver the products of the company. Review, prepare, and sequence tasks to ensure manufacturing, assembly, and installation requirements are executed to maximize efficiency, and are in coordination with industrial schedules, back shops, production lines, and retrofit, as required. Construct and input engineering design data requirements into the dedicated MRP system to create or maintain Production Engineering structures, including but not limited to, routing instructions, material requirements (BOM), design and special process references, tools, and standard times. Review and analyze parts and/or assemblies and make determinations for in-house manufacturing vs external procurement, depending on complexity, capability, cost, and lead times, as well as make-to-stock vs. build to A/C decisions, to maximize efficiency. Estimate production times and relative cost to manufacture/install to provide data for operational decisions in support of program quotation, scheduling, resource/skill capacity planning, production, back shops, and retrofit. Coordinate new, and audit existing, work instructions to enhance internal products, ensuring work orders contain more detailed and value added information for internal customers. Coordinate with Design Engineering Specialist, Data Management, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Production, and Retrofit teams to ensure accurate communication of design requirements, in order to facilitate the manufacturing and installation for serial production, retrofit, and NHC activities. Coordinate material and operational instruction changes with Procurement, Shop Floor Control, Quality, and Industry. Coordinate with Configuration Management Specialists to ensure new and existing design data is made available to industrial and quality personnel. Possess fundamental knowledge of Configuration Management in order to administer the design implementation and evolution of all products of the company, related to Parts 21 and 145. Execute Drawing Release Orders (DRO) and implement affected changes into serial production, NHC, or Retrofit structures, when applicable to master material data and/or released production orders.

Your Boarding Pass: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical degree or relevant experience. 5 years of experience interpreting and translating engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and/or other technical data. 10% Domestic and International travel availability. Aviation manufacturing or customization experience.

Physical Requirements: Onsite: 90% - Daily except when on travel. Vision: able to see and read com uter screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily. Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms daily. Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily. Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily. Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily. Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture occasionally. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily. Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally. Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices daily. Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice rarely. Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily. Personal Protective Equipment required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
