Cummins Inc. Supply Chain Manager - OEM in Columbus, Indiana

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Supply Chain Manager to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for Cummins, Inc. in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Optimize Operational Efficiency : By managing daily operations across functions, you’ll ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain, minimizing disruptions and maximizing productivity.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement : Lead projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence, leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems to enhance overall performance.

  • Align Business Units : Support corporate supply chain initiatives and lead cross-business unit planning processes to ensure alignment and synergy within the company.

  • Mitigate Supplier Constraints : Collaborate with functional stakeholders to address and mitigate long-term supplier constraints, ensuring a stable supply chain.

  • Standardize Processes : Establish common supply chain processes and procedures by building collaborative relationships with business partners, promoting consistency and efficiency. Prepare and manage an annual operating plan, including expenses and capital.

  • Enhance KPI Management : Develop, understand, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze operational trends and create corrective action plans to drive continuous improvement.

  • Ensure Stability : Promptly address supply chain failures to maintain operational stability, escalating issues as necessary to prevent prolonged disruptions.

  • Develop Teams : Manage, coach, and develop staff, setting goals for training, development, performance, and career planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Inventory Management and Optimization - Use data analytics and algorithms to determine the optimal inventory levels. This involves understanding and applying statistical models and optimization techniques.Develop inventory strategies that align with Cummins’ overall strategy.Balance various constraints such as warehouse space and customer delivery requirements.

  • Materials KPI Management - Regularly assess supply chain performance against organizational expectations. Use historical data to identify gaps and areas for improvement.Understand how different KPIs impact the end customer and the overall supply chain.Make strategic decisions to influence one KPI while minimizing negative impacts on others.

  • Supply Chain Knowledge - Have a comprehensive understanding of the entire supply chain, from information flow to product delivery. Be able to explain complex supply chain concepts concisely and clearly to various stakeholders.Manage the tensions between inventory levels, costs, and delivery times to achieve the best outcomes for the end customer.

  • Material Planning - Utilize advanced planning tools and BI dashboards to make informed decisions about parts availability and inventory optimization.Use data analytics to identify trends and patterns that can help in forecasting and planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Significant level of experience required. 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Leads all interactions with OEM customers for the Aftermarket business in North America, End to End.

  • Accountable for meeting 95% OTS to main OEM customer.

  • Strong collaboration with supporting departments (Operation, Account Management, etc).

  • Needs to be able to lead by influence.

  • Planning and Order Management experience required.
