DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Production Scheduler to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for Cummins Inc. in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Optimizing Production Schedules : By coordinating and developing daily or weekly production schedules, you’ll ensure that goals are met efficiently and effectively.
Cost Efficiency : Your ability to assign production tasks efficiently will help minimize company costs while meeting delivery deadlines, contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Process Improvement : Monitoring the production process and implementing improvements will enhance productivity and quality, leading to better outcomes and higher customer satisfaction.
Utilizing Tools and Systems : Leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems will streamline operations and improve communication and coordination across teams.
Data-Driven Decisions : Analyzing and interpreting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will allow you to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable plans, driving continuous improvement.
Risk Mitigation : Identifying potential supply chain failures and mitigating associated risks will ensure smoother operations and reduce the likelihood of disruptions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Detailed Capacity Planning :
Skills : Strong analytical skills to convert the Master Production Schedule into detailed resource requirements.
Knowledge : Understanding of capacity constraints and the ability to negotiate changes to schedules or resources.
Abilities : Flexibility to consider options like overtime, adding shifts, or increasing headcount to meet ATP dates.
Materials KPI Management :
Skills : Proficiency in analyzing historical and current outputs against organizational expectations.
Knowledge : Deep understanding of supply chain performance metrics and their impact on end-customers.
Abilities : Strategic thinking to balance trade-offs between different KPIs while driving improvements.
Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) :
Skills : Ability to translate demand and supply plans into critical resource requirements.
Knowledge : Long-term resource planning and negotiation skills to balance supply and demand.
Abilities : Focus on strategic, rather than detailed, planning to ensure long-term resource availability.
Materials Planning System Utilization :
Skills : Proficiency in using materials planning systems and related tools (Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS).
Knowledge : Root cause analysis and long-term corrective action planning.
Abilities : Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to manage supply and demand plans using the primary planning system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Looking for a professional with strong Excel and Microsoft Office experience.
Supply Chain related education and/or Supply chain work experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
This role is onsite in Columbus, IN.
Additional Responsibilities:
This role consists of the following tasks:
Process Customer EDI messages
Manage just needed inventory levels to meet plant budget and target,
Build a production plan that supports delivering the customers in time
Communicate with materials personnel to make sure all components are available for production
Manage customer orders in Oracle
Maintain customer data in Oracle
Open planned orders, release work orders
Run MDP, MPS, MRP jobs in Oracle
Work in excel to create tracking files for production achievement, build plan adherence, delivery on time
Participate in workshops to define material flow, changeover time improvements
