Cummins Inc. OCU-Non-Technical-Indirect Materials Analyst-2nd Shift in Columbus, Indiana

DESCRIPTION

Plans, orders, and expedites materials needed in the facility.

Provides information for affected cross-functional areas for the facility.

Develops and maintains spreadsheets and databases to assist with responsibilities; analyzes data; audits pull signals and overall system performance; measures supplier delivery performance.

Coordinates inventory levels relative to facility capacity and capability; compiles and schedules orders. May work with suppliers to resolve issues regarding procedures, delivery, status updates, and other matters.

Completes daily reconciliation of purchase orders to invoices in the procurement system.

Tracks, evaluates, and maintains evolving data related to facility needs for new product introduction. Interfaces and communicates with internal customers; directs people to the appropriate resource; researches solutions and responds to email and phone inquiries.

Participates in the development and maintenance of improvement processes; actively participates in self- and team audits and resulting process improvements.

Understands the structure of the organization and develops a strong network across departments; draws on network to answer questions, solve problems, and successfully execute responsibilities. Demonstrates confidentiality in execution of all responsibilities.

Performs other duties as required, to get the job done.

Travel as required by the work.

Key Responsibilities:

With minimal supervision, manage first-call resolution for customer orders and enquiries: Ability to manage a high volume of incoming routine customer communications (via phone and/or email) for order entry, respond to frequently asked questions (FAQs) and resolve common enquiries. Process customer orders within the order management system, accurately and within the required deadline. Compile and distribute export and shipping documentation to enable customer orders to be processed in a timely manner. Publish confirmations and notifications to customers (for example: order acknowledgements, shipment notifications, shipment tracking details and/or invoices). Respond to customer enquiries by referring them to published materials, secondary sources, or transfer the enquiry to the next appropriate level of customer support. Collaborate with the next appropriate level of customer support to seek resolution to challenging enquiries/complaints, providing documentation and continual communication to customer throughout the process. Maintain accurate records of all internal and external interactions in the appropriate database/system. Prepare and distribute standard internal and customer reports. Support order management team goals and initiatives to become a more proactive customer support organization. Identify and communicate areas for process improvement to Supervisor.

Order Processing - Demonstrates the steps necessary to manage the processing of customer orders through order receipt, exception identification and resolution to ensure orders are fulfilled to customer requirements

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required

Candidate must be able to operate a fork lift, hoist and crane.

Chauffer’s license as required with medical release or ability to obtain.

Ability to lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds.

Experience:

Minimal or no work experience required.

At least one year of relevant experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities: Perform cycle count, low-level supplier management, Ariba ordering, Invoice reconciliation, support Supply Chain initiatives, and housekeeping

Skill: Basic understanding of inventory management in addition to Maximo and Ariba
