DESCRIPTION

Apply highly specialized knowledge of statistical analysis tools including Minitab, MATLAB, JMP and warranty databases to analyze existing component or system reliability, report the reliability per the customer's reporting requirements, and provide interpretation of the results. Specify power supply requirements and configuration, drawing on system performance expectations and design specifications. Utilize Product Problem Solving, process map, control plan and Six Sigma DMAIC (Define Measure Analysis Improvement and Control) to solve problems. Provide reliability comparisons and assessments across the product range to current product problem solving teams as well as finance and marketing functions and identify and report adverse or favorable trends in current product reliability. Lead in the development of related reliability tools and methods in order to analyze product reliability. Select hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements. Utilize OBIEE Reporting tools for data profiling, data quality assessment, and analytical reports. Translate the business requirements into technical requirements for Reliability Application enhancements and day to day outfiles management tasks. Provide reliability comparisons and assessments across company products using computer related equipment and components. Utilize Quantitative Reliability Analysis to establish failure rate models for use in assessing the feasibility of meeting reliability targets, comparing reliability of product alternatives, estimating reliability and product coverage costs, identifying emerging issues and verifying reliability improvements have been implemented. Assess risks considering factors and implications for stakeholders and evaluate the impact of global trends on the organization /function using 7-step problem solving process and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) while developing strategies to enhance the business competitiveness. Develop and analyze test plans considering schedule, applications, noises and locations to find unknown failure modes to improve reliability. Define and lead a process to record, prioritize and resolve product failures using cross-functional reviews, rigorous problem solving methods, failed parts transfer processes, data management tools, and project management practices to effectively and efficiently improve the reliability of the product using Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Prevention Action Systems. Plan and manage critical reliability activities during new product development by preventing failures before hardware, detecting failures and improving products before production in order to release a reliable and durable product using knowledge of Product Reliability and Reliability Risk Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience as Manufacturing or Current Product Reliability Engineer, Data Scientist, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree Industrial, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as Manufacturing or Current Product Reliability Engineer, Data Scientist, or related position. Experience to include: Statistical analysis tools including Minitab, MATLAB, JMP; Product Problem Solving; Six Sigma DMAIC (Define Measure Analysis Improvement and Control); Product Reliability Analysis; OBIEE Reporting tools; Quantitative Reliability Analysis; 7-step problem solving process and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA); Reliability test planning; Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Prevention Action Systems; Product Reliability and Reliability Risk Management.
