Actalent Architectural Project Manager in Columbus, Georgia

Job Title: Architectural Project ManagerJob Description

We are seeking an Architectural Project Manager for our Columbus, GA office. This role involves assisting the project architect and project manager from programming through construction administration across multiple sectors including commercial, healthcare, higher education, local government, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), and manufacturing. Responsibilities include setting schedules, budgets, and scope; hiring consultants; and proposal writing. You will independently apply architectural skills from design concept through construction administration, including investigation, evaluation, coordination, and execution of solutions. You will coordinate with engineering and other consultants on complex projects, prepare design drawings, submissions, reports, and client presentations, and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff. The role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously, complying with company design standards, and engaging with projects in the office, virtually, and on job sites. You will identify clients' requirements, approximate budget, timetable, and future expansion needs, and determine preferences regarding materials, styles, colors, and other variables. You will assist clients in defining their priorities and vision by preparing preliminary sketches and presenting designs, specifications, estimated costs, and proposed construction schedules. You will also prepare scale drawings, contract requirements, and collaborate with clients to select and award construction contracts, facilitating the building process to meet clients' specifications.

Hard Skills

  • 5-10 years of experience

  • Proficiency with Revit

  • Moderate proficiency with Bluebeam, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office core programs

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Columbus, Georgia and some days remote.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. It involves prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. The firm has offices in Georgia and Colorado, serving clients across the country. They describe their culture like a family, with team outings such as TopGolf, lunches, and fun committee activities like video games and bowling. The office layout is open studio style with permanent desks and phones. Most staff work around 50 hours per week, and there is a strong emphasis on passion for architecture and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
