Job Summary and Qualifications

The role of the Intake and Assessment Specialist is to deliver exceptional, patient-focused care by providing supervised mental health services to patients and their loved ones. Their responsibilities include assessing patients as they present at the facility for most appropriate level of care. In this role you will work directly with our physicians and the patient insurance provider to best determine level of care.

What you will do in this Role:

The Intake Coordinator will respond to calls for psychiatry services responding appropriately to the identified needs of the caller and patient.

• Coordinates communication related to all assessment and admission activities, ensures rapid throughput for the emergency department, requests additional resources when needed based on volume, and works with multidisciplinary team to move patients to disposition quickly.

• Responds to calls in a timely and thorough manner, and verifies RN/SSR in Respond completes a timely assessment

• Provides ongoing education, resources and support to patients and families as needed.

• Coordinates and participates with appropriate interested parties and physicians through the patient response inquiry, and admission process

• Models and trains other behavioral health team members on managing and tracking inquiry calls.

• Conduct post discharge follow up as indicated

• Opportunity to cross train for inpatient and outpatient coverage as needed for group and individual therapies

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Masters Degree
