Recruiting Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced and dedicated Tool and Die Maker (Levels I, II, and III) for a reputable Plastics Manufacturing company in Orangeburg, SC. Job Title: Tool and Die Maker Responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement to all tooling dies, jigs, fixtures and fittings for press tools, CNC equipment in line with production and customer requirements to support business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain press tools, including die repairs.
  • Perform routine servicing and regrinding of tools.
  • Address breakdowns by identifying faults and solving problems with minimal downtime.
  • Assess whether jobs can be repaired on-site or require removal to the Tool Room for maintenance.
  • Estimate job completion times and manage work to meet deadlines.
  • Report breakdown causes, equipment faults, and concerns to Management.
  • Ensure high-quality standards and compliance with quality regulations.
  • Support new project tooling from commissioning to production start.
  • Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production.
  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance and make engineering modifications.
  • Test and confirm the operation of tools before returning them to production.
  • Engage in improvement activities and maintain safety and environmental standards.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2years of tool making experience.
  • At least 1 yearof mold building experience.
  • Proficiency in measurement and understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety practices and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
