The Lumen Threat Research team is looking for an experienced security analyst to identify, track, and summarize emerging threats on the internet. We need your skills to help research, understand, and identify emerging threats that are at the forefront of today’s cybersecurity current events.
We are searching for a Security Research Engineer that has broad knowledge of threats, and a desire to learn even more. You will help us stay on top of emerging problems and track the world’s botnets that pose a threat to the internet and our customers. The Main Responsibilities
The Lead Information Security Engineer will work side by side with lead engineers and architects in a corporate DLP and email environment.
The ideal candidate must possess Email support experience on Unix/Linux systems (sendmail, postfix). Install/configure/support 3rd party applications on Unix/Linux.
Experience with anti-spam tools and services. DNS knowledge. DMARC/DKIM/SPF admin and support. Certificate admin. SMTP, TLS, Written communication skills.
Experience with workflow/ticketing systems. M365 email and M365 DLP as well as general knowledge of other DLP tools.
will be creative and have the ability to start new projects, along with the ability to bring new and unique ideas to the table.
The candidate will possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Experience in networking (TCP/IP) protocols, computer/network security, and system administration.
Designs, develops, engineers, and implements custom and off the shelf security solutions that meet customer requirements.
Applies know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.
Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
Occasionally provide security engineering and integration services to internal customers.
Develop detailed supporting documentation regarding technical projects (such as materials to support an architecture review board).
Provide recommendations on collection, processing and distribution systems in the cyber security market.
Manage customer expectation and attend all mandatory review / regulatory discussions related to the specific project being delivered.
Experience in Unix/Linux required in addition to knowledge in the areas of smtp mail products including M365 email as well as DLP solutions.
This job will actively update, maintain and monitor all aspects of the email and DLP environments. Rotational oncall required.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Typically 8+ years of IT Security experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education and experience; 6+ year of IT Security experience with Master’s Degree
Expert in one of the following SIEM platforms: Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight, LogRythm, McAfee ESM, Microsoft OMS
Experience writing custom parsers
Exposure to at least one industry standard data parsing language.
Security certification desired
Advanced experience in networking (TCP/IP) protocols, computer/network security, and system administration.
Advanced knowledge of event collection technologies.
Background in INFOSEC operations, endpoint management, and network topology
Windows and Linux skills desired
Linux scripting skills desired
