Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Fixed Asset Accountant in Columbia, South Carolina. This role is within the higher education industry and requires the individual to be adept at handling various accounting functions such as fixed assets, account reconciliation, and audit preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all fixed asset accounting tasks

• Regularly perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy

• Prepare necessary documents and reports for audit purposes

• Utilize accounting software such as Oracle, NetSuite, and SAP for efficient data management

• Record and manage all general ledger entries

• Conduct monthly closing procedures and ensure timely completion

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Manage and reconcile bank accounts as required

• Handle balance sheet reconciliation duties

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Fixed Asset Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for accounting purposes is necessary

• Experience in Month End Close procedures is a must

• Knowledge and hands-on experience with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP preferred

• The candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• The candidate should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting practices is required.
