Robert Half Customer Service Representative - Bilingual-Spanish/English in Columbia, South Carolina

Description We are seeking a Bilingual Customer Service Representative who is fluent in both English and Spanish. This role is based in Columbia, South Carolina and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. The primary function of this role is to provide excellent customer service within the insurance industry, addressing customer inquiries and concerns, and assisting with insurance product information and claims service.

Responsibilities:

• Provide detailed information about policy statuses to policyholders

• Support policyholders by providing insurance product information

• Respond to policyholder inquiries related to claims service and intake-related issues

• Assist in basic technical troubleshooting for self-service related issues

• Transfer calls to the sales team to increase revenue when appropriate

• Handle claim intake for policyholders

• Meet or exceed departmental standards related to quality, average handle time, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Participate in training and mentoring of Junior Representatives

• Provide feedback to leadership and support process improvements

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Maintain a professional and amicable demeanor, representing the organizational values of personal connection, empathy, problem-solving, and ownership. Requirements • Proficiency in both Spanish and English languages is required for effective communication with diverse customer base

• Demonstrated experience in customer service roles, with the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clear and effective correspondence with customers

• Sales skills to upsell products and services when appropriate and beneficial to the customer

• Previous experience in training, supervising and leading a team is necessary

• Familiarity with company procedures and policies to ensure consistent service delivery

• Experience in planning processes and executing plans to meet set objectives

• Commitment to maintaining quality standards in all customer service interactions

• Knowledge of insurance industry would be advantageous

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively

• Proficiency in revenue accounting and claim administration is desirable

• Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate the team

• Familiarity with hiring processes to assist in team recruitment when required

• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments

• Experience in KPI reporting and process improvement would be beneficial

• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and team members.
