The Ritedose Corporation Analytical Services Product Testing Supervisor in Columbia, South Carolina

The Analytical Services Product Testing Supervisor role is for a subject matter expert and leader with responsible to coordinate, oversee, and perform and review if needed, analytical testing related to finished product release and stability in the Analytical Services Laboratory. The Analytical Services Product Testing Supervisor will lead a flexible team tasked with in-process, finished product, and utilities testing.

Responsibilities:

Primary Job Responsibilities: With assistance from Analytical Services Management,

  • Responsible for project tracking, scheduling, and timely completion of quality control chemistry related activities, including in-process, finished product, and utilities testing.

  • Developing and leading an effective analytical group within the Analytical Services Department.

  • Coordinating with other Laboratory Services Managers for the efficient use of equipment and personnel resources.

  • Responsible for training oversight of staff.

  • Functions as a technical expert regarding analytical methodology and instrumentation used for product testing in the laboratory.

  • Coordinates with the Quality Assurance and Stability groups for disposition of tested product.

  • Support regulatory audits as assigned by Laboratory Management.

  • Lead/complete OOS investigations and laboratory investigations as assigned by Laboratory Management.

  • Assisting in the generation and tracking of laboratory testing metrics and budgeting.

  • Understanding of ERP database including the ability to track material status in ERP database to determine test requirements.

    General Responsibilities:

  • Oversee in-process, finished product release and stability, and utilities testing.

  • Manage out of specification results reporting and assist in the investigations of OOS and deviations.

  • Lead in the creation and collaboration of laboratory documents as assigned.

  • Responsible for ensuring that routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation, is performed as stated in the instrument manual and contacting the manufacturer for assistance when needed.

  • Responsible for the general maintenance of the Chemistry Laboratory including good housekeeping and a safe working environment.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, documentation, safety, health, and cGMP Guidelines.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemistry or related field with a minimum 10 years of experience, or a MS degree in Chemistry or related field with a minimum 8 years of experience, or a PhD in Chemistry with a minimum 5 years of experience, in a pharmaceutical laboratory environment required

  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience in a laboratory environment

  • Ability to effectively manage both junior and senior level scientists to meet the goals of the group

  • Subject Matter Expertise with laboratory techniques used in the testing of TRC products, e.g., wet chemistry tests, titration, spectroscopy, HPLC, GC, and modern Data Acquisition Systems required

  • Strong documentation skills and proficiency with current word processing, spreadsheets, and database software required

  • Ability to conduct failure investigations and develop experimental protocols with minimal supervision

  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and organized manner both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to effectively train others

  • Must be detail focused, have a strong work ethic, and the ability to participate in and contribute to a team-oriented work environment by developing positive working relationships within the laboratory and between other departments
