SUPERVISION RECEIVED
- Engineers and/or Manager provides regular oversight on task/ activities related to project deliverables and timeline.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
- This position will not have direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform physical testing on medical device packaging systems per the specified test plan and/or SOP, and operation of respective equipment for each test.
Documentation of the test results in a format specified which includes supplied datasheets, handwritten datasheets, computer printouts, and electronic data entry.
Attention to details, including order of sequence for testing and time management.
Attention to the timely and accurate execution of test procedures with minimal supervision.
Maintain proper documentation of all studies and testing performed following Good Documentation Practices (cGDP)guideline.
Maintain a functional, safe, and effective laboratory and ensure that all equipment meets standards for laboratory research use
Plans own workload to ensure tasks and objectives are completed and collaborates as a participative team member to ensure R&D milestones are met.
Communication with supervisor and/or project managers on testing status
Author test reports, compile data and prepare for review and approvals.
Conduct multiple tests projects under tight timelines
Repackaging of the test samples after testing is complete
Shipping and receiving of samples and test materials as necessary
Ability to independently investigate and solve technical problems, as necessary
Participate in inventory control and ensure items are ordered through the appropriate supplier
Perform other duties as assigned
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required or GED equivalent
Preferably, 3+ years working in a lab setting or medical device environment with experience following strict safety standards, or equivalent education and experience
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Customer Service oriented, excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to details
Proficient use of the computer, including the MS Word Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams); scientific, and organizational skills
Good understanding of cGMPs, industry and regulatory standard and guidelines
Good understanding of federal and local regulations regarding health and safety within a manufacturing and laboratory environment.
Ability to work regularly and predictably
Proficiency with math, the metric system, weight, and volume
MS Office
Fluent in English (speaking and writing)

Office equipment: Computer (desktop or laptop), keyboard, mouse, desk, chair
Measurement tools: (ruler, calipers- metric and imperial)
Cutting tools: scissors, precision knife, box cutter
Packaging equipment: Vibration table, drop tester, compression tester, leak detector, tensile tester,
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit for extended periods
Must be able to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach above shoulders
Repetitive use of hands
Ability to work on computer for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a laboratory environment, including meeting OSHA and cGLP requirements.
