Job Description:

Parsons Corporation is seeking a talented and experienced mechanical engineer to support the design, prototyping and manufacturing of electronic assemblies in our Columbia, MD office. Duties will include:

  • Designing, drafting, prototyping, and production of mechanical and electrical assemblies utilizing 3D computer-aided design (CAD), traditional manufacturing methods, and additive manufacturing

  • Conducting and documenting engineering trade studies, thermal and structural analyses, and tests

  • Supporting design qualification testing, including electrical test fixturing, thermal testing, shock and vibration testing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of applicable engineering experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare written requirements and specifications.

  • Experience with CAD (Solidworks preferred)

Eligible for Gov’t Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with hands-on fabrication, assembly and test of engineering prototypes using typical machine shop equipment (mills, drill presses, etc) and electronics assembly (soldering, etc)

  • Masters from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
