Mechanical Design Engineer
KBR is seeking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The Defense Systems Engineering Group (SEG) provides full spectrum engineering and technical solutions across the life cycle of DoD military systems on land, at sea, in the air and in space. Areas of expertise include acquisition, systems engineering and integration, AI/big data applications, cyber, R&D, test and evaluation, C4ISR and sustainment engineering.
Researches, designs, evaluates mechanical products, equipment, systems to meet operational end use requirements applying knowledge of engineering and design principles.
Works with other engineering and technical staff to design and develop electro-mechanical devices, components and structures.
Solves technical design problems, performs system design analysis, and formulates plans, designs, cost estimates and system specifications.
Develops structural and mechanical design of products using drafting tools and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems.
Performs structural and mechanical analysis of sub components and overall system.
Conducts research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and or overall systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
Candidates should have 5+ years' of experience performing mechanical design on electronic systems.
Must have Secret clearance and be willing to process for higher-level clearance.
Existing full clearance with poly highly desired.
Electronics packaging experience
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) systems
Must be able to multi task interacting with other members of the technical staff, supporting components research and selection, component engineering, engineering analyses and documentation, and design reviews.
The mechanical engineer must understand the overall engineering process, from design kick-off to production; and, must be capable of interacting with the various disciplines involved in production of an electronic product.
Working experience designing systems utilizing AUTOCAD INVENTOR, 3D modeling experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude and desire to work in a team environment solving challenging problems
