CFC Certification (Section 608 Type I and II)

Must obtain journeyman in one year from hiring date.

The HVAC Mechanic plans and implements maintenance, repair, and installation of all HVAC systems for the Hospital. Work requires communication outside the work group to resolve problems and collaborate on work procedures while maintaining satisfaction and service with internal contacts. External communication is for ongoing service and providing detailed information about a selected service or capability.

Inspects, performs preventive maintenance and repairs all refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in the Hospital.

Maintains and repairs all heating and cooling systems.

Performs periodic preventative maintenance on various air handling units, including filter replacement.

Repairs and tests HVAC/REF systems.

Licensed for recovery, reclamation, and purchase of refrigerant gases.

Repairs and installs compressors and condensers.

Maintains a complete inventory of tools used on the job to accomplish repairs.

Responsible to oversee all outside contract work on refrigeration and some HVAC equipment and to assure that work is completed in a professional manner.

40 hours per week

Day Shift

6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Occasional weekends to work on special projects or emergency work

Work

High school diploma, high school equivalency diploma, or trade/ vocational school diploma is required.
