Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our client's growing team on a contract basis. In this position, you will be responsible for accurately preparing tax returns for individuals and companies, ensuring optimal refunds and tax savings, and maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns for individual, partnership, or corporate clients.

• Review financial records such as income statements and expenditure documents to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.

• Interview clients to get a thorough picture of financial situation.

• Verify tax forms completed by clients to confirm their accuracy and completeness.

• Seek out tax savings, credits, and deductions for clients and ensure clients comply with all tax laws and regulations.

• Consult tax law handbooks or bulletins to determine procedure for preparation of atypical tax returns.

• Compute tax owed or overpaid, using adding machines or personal computers, and complete entries on forms.

• Advise clients in tax preparation matters.

• Stay informed about current tax laws and news.

• Assist with tax audits and tax planning.

• Maintain client confidentiality.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

• Previous experience in tax preparation is required.

• Certification from the Accrediting Council for Accountancy and Taxation is a plus.

• Proficient in tax software and MS Office.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

• Exceptional math skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
