The Sr. Print Services Broker/Scheduler position exists to be accountable for all print production sourcing and execution for the ministry. Uniquely, this position has both agency and authority to make purchase decision, and therefore must work within clear compliance guidelines. Works in cooperation with the Print Customer Service Representatives to understand ministry requirement and negotiate, on behalf of the ministry print customers. Manages vendor relationships for the success of all print jobs. This position will work toward, and track metrics set in cooperation with customer requirements and ministry history to constantly improve print purchasing for the ministry. Works constantly toward efficient use of resources and capacity with wise inventory management.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Establishes daily production manufacturing priorities for customer demands consistent with the master scheduling requirements, inventory objectives, and service level goals
Builds, maintains, and track metrics set in cooperation with customer requirements and ministry history to constantly improve print purchasing for the ministry
Establishes negotiation goals for arms-length transactions with suppliers and service suppliers
Advises CSRs concerning best-fit suppliers for goods and services based on vendor capabilities, location, availability, price, and delivery schedule
Coordinates manufacturing activities to resolve delays, component shortages, priorities, and identified problems
Proactively builds and maintains positive, collaborative, customer-focused relationships with CSRs and Vendors
Closely monitors multiple, concurrent production schedules by serving as the key vendor liaison to CSRs, interacting proactively to ensure timely delivery of goods and services at the highest quality in support of ministry objectives
Monitors overall supplier performance as it pertains to meeting ministry goals (price, quality, delivery); performs follow-up as necessary with vendors regarding issues with orders and invoices
Performs periodic market research/analysis to keep current on goods, services, and print capabilities that are utilized by the ministry
Maintains documentation to support each purchase including evidence of quotes and why the vendor was (or was not) selected
Reviews shortage reports and expedites when appropriate
Identifies and resolves problems collaboratively with CSRs, vendors, and internal print production shop
Executes prioritization changes due to the customer requirement or shortage resolution
Maintains orders, machines, work centers, routing, and Item Master in the Manufacturing system to ensure accurate processes, billing, and accounting flow
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains basic knowledge of internal processes and controls
Keeps updated on vendor capacity and capabilities
Stays abreast of new developments within the field through research and study
Initiates and conducts periodic audits of related departmental activities
Travels as necessary to qualify and understand vendors and develop relationships to drive success in all areas of print
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
5-7 years of acquisition, purchasing and/or negotiating experience in print production
Strong mathematical skills
Working knowledge of finance and accounting principles
Working knowledge of commercial printing processes (Web, offset, and digital) and their respective strengths and weaknesses
Working knowledge of overseas purchasing and relationships is beneficial, but not a requirement for this position
Ability to build and maintain strong and beneficial relationships with vendors and internal print production
Basic Computer Skills (MS Office, Word, Excel) and ability to use In Plant Software (Accura) and ministry print workflow software (Aprimo)

Stewardship Requirements:
Responsible for purchase decisions along with purchasing agency with compliance guidelines
Responsible for $2 million to $4 million in print purchases
Salary Range: $64,476 to $74,358/yr
