As a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, you will be developing systems using current technologies and others yet to come. What you’ll get to do:
Develop and Implement an overarching system test program to integrate and test a new large scale ground based radar.
Develop testcases to verify Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission requirements and technical performance criteria.
Work with Government test communities on testcase development to support DT&E/OT&E.
Work in collaboration with IPTs support, oversee Sub-System to System Level testing
Develop and oversee radar subsystem integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration & test
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to defined master plans and schedules, identify program risks and obtain solutions to include allocation of resources
Identify and implement system test solutions in accordance with project technical, schedule and cost constraints
Lead system/element level test planning and test readiness reviews
Coordinate integrated test activities and resolve conflicts across multiple subsystem test schedules and suppliers
Review test requirements and methodologies in the requirements management system
Review system engineer documentation to ensure test plans and methodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as strong problem solving and analytical skills. They will have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment and be a self-starter, efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant work experience; 6 years with a Master's degree; 4 years with a PhD
Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application
Experience with large scale software/hardware develop, integration and test
Experience with Systems Engineering, Integration and Test processes and documentation
Experience working as part of an Integration and Test team across multiple HW disciplines
Experience in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS
Experience in using a discrepancy management tool, such as Jira, Bugzilla, etc.
Formal Experience leading technical teams - this candidate will directly support the System & Integration Test Lead as support other SEIT technical leaders.
Up to 50% travel CONUS/OCONUS is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with basic principles and theory of radar operation and electromagnetics and Radio Frequency (RF) propagation
Experienced with the design, analysis, architecture development, or test of radar and Radio Frequency (RF) systems
Experienced with System and HW integration activities of large ground-based systems
Experienced with ground based radar system design, analysis, and test
Familiarity or experience with Agile development methodologies, i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe
Experience in with Unix/Linux operating systems
Salary Range: $124,900 - $187,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
