QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE INTEGRATION ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Installation and configuration of Linux and Windows HW platforms from the OS up to the program-developed applications Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps in the documentation to be delivered to the customer Develop installation scripts to automate the system installation Develop test plans/procedures for conducting software integration tests, Responsible for integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports Coordinate execution of SW integration tests to verify system operation Work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration: submit problem reports for errors found Responsible for implementing all Information Assurance directives on the systems, including running IA scans Task and coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members This position will require occasional travel, including support for installation and checkout at customer sites (including OCONUS)
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline and 9 years of experience or equivalent years of relevant experience Security+ certification
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Previous experience in the integration of separate software components into a single system Strong technical skills and experience in/with Integrating complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms, Linux and Windows system administration, and installing and configuring systems from the OS level up VMWare systems administration and installation Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system PowerShell/Bash/Korn scripting languages (developing, debugging, and maintaining) Must be able to write clear, concise system installation and configuration instructions Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, establish and maintain good working relationships with software developers, system administrators, and analysis and test engineers, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Use of Git Version Control System VM Horizon View experience Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and automated test tools Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code Familiarity with Java and object-oriented development Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change Knowledge/expertise in Command and Control concept of operations Experience writing installation manuals
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
Salary Range
$120,000 - $183,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees t share in company results.
