Nou Systems, Inc. Software Engineer / Analyst Lead - Senior Level in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Salary Range for this position is $135,000 to $175,000 pending experience.

We are pleased to announce the opening for a Lead Software Engineer / Analyst, who will join our NSTTC-D Software Development Team in Colorado Springs, CO in and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for delivering digital engineering solutions for the United States Space Force.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Leading nou Systems, Inc. developers to define simple yet powerful APIs.
Learn new and emerging technologies while expressing a growth mindset and participating in professional development.
Design, build, and maintain applications, APIs, and systems for internal and external users at a large scale.
Write clean, efficient, and scalable code.
Work to continually improve our processes, tools, standards, and team.
Debug complicated issues in production that touch many services.
Hold yourself and others to the highest of standards.
Demonstrate good communication skills and work effectively in a team environment.
Collaborate on peer reviews with other developers to ensure functionality and good coding practices before release.
Provide feedback and guidance regarding technical issues to other members of the nSI team as appropriate, such as product management, customers, and business development.
Participate in Scrum agile development process, including being active in ceremonies (standups, sprint reviews, etc.) and suggest improvements to team processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including product owners, technology leadership, UI/UX designers, marketing teams and back-end developers to accomplish company goals.
When necessary, document code and workflows (in-code comments, internal wikis and documents, flowcharts, etc.)
Here’s what you’ll need:
You must have a Bachelor’s degree at minimum, in a Computer Science field such as Computer Science / Engineering. Also, we’re looking for someone with 17+ full-time professional experience in areas such as: Test & Integration Analyst and / or Software Engineering. Finally, you must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Top-Secret clearance. Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job.
You also must have:
Must have 10+ years of relevant software development experience.
In-depth understanding of software development process (design, development, deployment)
Experience developing software using the Kotlin development language (Java also accepted)
Experience writing REST APIs
Working knowledge of version control and collaborative version control platforms (Git/GitLab preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field is preferred, in lieu of degree equivalent work experience may be considered.
Ability to obtain an active secret clearance (required)
This position is in our COS office, you must be able to report on-site.
Other qualifications we hope you bring to the table:
CompTIA Security+ Certification
Knowledge and experience in Cloud Computing environments (AWS preferred)
Experience working with containerized deployments (Docker and/or Kubernetes)
Experience working in a continuous integration continuous deployment (CI/CD) environment
Experience integrating COTS & GOTS tools
Experience with message-oriented middleware (such as RabbitMQ)
Experience working with additional programming languages, technologies, frameworks across full stack (Python, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, etc.)
Experience implementing and maintaining Database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc.
