Microchip Technologies, Inc. Principal Engineer - Product (PE-LB) in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Internally microprobe signals such as bgap, WL, BL, VM, VMREG and analyze the results to ensure the signals align with expected outputs. Understand the mechanical Fowler-Nordheim tunneling operation to assess cell programming strength, ability to adjust charge pump settings, ramp times, program, and erase times, and more to optimize the device programming characteristics. Bring new product to market involving in depth knowledge of FLOTOX memory cell operation and their common failure modes. Document and maintain project schedules using internal tools (Waterfall) and COTS tools (MS Project). Use tools such as JMP, LEDIT, BitMaps to analyze large sets of data collection and prepare meaningful reports of the collected data for team review. Use ATE in a lab environment for testing and data collection to include knowledge of Nextest test equipment, MicroManipulator, and various oscilloscopes. Continuously monitor a released product line and support or intervene as necessary to maintain optimal product cost and supply. Work with fab or process engineers to make process adjustments for yield optimization, or work with test engineering for test program optimization. Involved in monitoring product yields through front and back-end production flows and look for deviations from trend and acting accordingly. Provide technical assistance for customer returns as needed. Share device knowledge and expertise to collaborate with customer, applications, test, and others to assess customer reported failures and determine if the customer is violating datasheet performance specifications, if the product is failing to perform to datasheet specification, or if there are other issue causing the reported failure. Collaborate with other teams such as Marketing, Design, Test, and offshore support to ensure timely NPD cycles. Provide support to other team members for various product support needs as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, followed by 3 years of related experience.
