University of Colorado PostDoctoral Associate in Physics in Colorado Springs, Colorado

PostDoctoral Associate in Physics - 31632 Research Faculty

Description

Prof. Ezio Iacocca's group at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop physics-informed machine learning algorithms for material discovery. The research will focus on magnetic materials and the stabilization of 3D topological textures using new models for magnetization dynamics, including but not limited to, a pseudo-spectral approach and a fractional calculus implementation of the Landau-Lifshitz equation. The successful applicant is expected to collaborate with the group's students and also faculty in computer science throughout the position. This is a three-year position based on grant funding.

About Iacocca's Group

The group of Prof. Iacocca focuses on magnetization dynamics at the nanoscale, investigated from a theoretical, analytical, and numerical perspective. The goal of or research is to understand non-equilibrium and nonlinear magnetization dynamics and to propose magnetic devices for information technologies. Current research avenues include magnon dispersion in artificial spin ices, novel models for magnetization dynamics, physics-informed machine learning, ultrafast magnetization dynamics, and spin hydrodynamics. Our group currently consists of 5 PhD students and 3 undergraduate students. More information can be found in the group's website http://faculty.uccs.edu/iacocca (https://apptrkr.com/get_redirect.php?id=4795556&targetURL=http://faculty.uccs.edu/iacocca) .
