Operations Integration & Staff Support Sr. Advisor

Support National Space Defense Center (NSDC) Chief of Staff as lead for capability integration matters with activities supporting input, analysis, and execution of day-to-day tasks and process flows for all aspects of NSDC operations, plans, and activities.

Develop, execute, monitor, and/or refine processes and procedures to maintain efficient and consistent information and task flows to and from the Chief of Staff office in support of internal NSDC, external partner, and higher headquarters taskings, workflows, and meetings.

Author, critically review, and/or coordinate staff review of documents, briefings, and products supporting capability integration, space operations, command and control, wargaming, exercises, intelligence support, and other operational or functional areas in support of the Chief of Staff and NSDC leadership.

Be prepared to assist with functional review and operational input to other NSDC divisions, e.g., current operations, future operations, etc., on topics such as the Joint Planning Process, Course of Action development, mission analysis, etc.

Monitor and track status and report readiness as directed for Chief of Staff day-to-day requirements. Assist Chief of Staff office with recurring meetings and tasker submissions in support of mission execution. Duty at Schriever SFB, CO

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and creating material and products in support of NSDC Chief of Staff execution support to the Commander, NSDC. Items may include typical staffing roles/functions, tasking, and calendar support. Assist with planning, development, creation, review, coordination, and completion of affiliated products, submissions, and reports as required for various aspects of operations within the NSDC, to include Tiger Teams and working groups. The position will be part of the Chief of Staff office with additional assistance to the operations directorate (current operations, future operations, etc.). The individual will regularly collect, consolidate, organize, draft, produce, and coordinate materials and publications, as well as coordinate with the U.S. Government (USG) customer to establish schedules for current and future activities. The individual will assist the USG customer with planning, coordination, briefing and executing support for Chief of Staff activities in support of the NSDC. The individual will also coordinate with the USG customer to complete related tasks in accordance with customer USG direction and guidance. Applicants must be self-motivated, team-oriented, able to adapt to dynamic environments, and willing to work with personnel from other organizations and companies.

Shall assist with the following:

• Support the National Space Defense Center Chief of Staff with assigned programs, taskings, and processes, as well as NSDC activities as assigned.

• Assist the USG customer with planning, coordinating, editing, reviewing, authoring, and briefing documents and other products, as well as executing activities in support of the Chief of Staff.

• Attend coordination and planning meetings and conduct review of programs, desired objectives, and participant supporting capabilities.

• Coordinate with and assist NSDC directorates and other supporting organizations as needed to meet Chief of Staff requirements.

• Plan for and coordinate integration tasks and other functions with capability owners, partner organizations, process owners, and associated stakeholders.

• Maintain awareness of Chief of Staff daily, weekly, monthly battle rhythm requirements and support scheduling and preparation of products.

• Provide briefings and presentations to counterparts, process owners, and leadership. Prepare, edit, and review correspondence, documents, and other written material.

• Perform additional supporting duties as required or identified.

Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

Requirements:

• Active Top Secret clearance required. Willingness to submit to initial and random counter-intelligence polygraph(s) required.

• Bachelors Degree required. Bachelors Degree in STEM area highly desired. Masters Degree highly desired. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Corresponding staff experience in one or more of the following: field component HQ (e.g., brigade-level, wing-level, major service component, Combatant Command, Service Component HQ required; Combined Forces Space Component Command, Space Forces Space, and/or Joint Staff is highly desired.

• Ability to speak in public, brief senior leaders (O-6 and above), and write effectively required.

• Ability to operate independently and manage team elements to meet contract requirements required.

• Experience leading diverse teams and personnel of varying experience levels and skill sets required.

• 15+ years of experience in performing related tasks in military units preferred.

• Ability and willingness to travel (less than 10% estimate).

Preferred Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• Graduate of JPME Phase II, graduate of Intermediate Service School, and/or graduate of Senior Service School is desired.

• Graduated O-6 commander/deputy commander or equivalent experience is desired.

• Graduated O-5 commander and/or operations officer/executive officer experience, combatant command headquarters, Joint Staff, service headquarters, and/or major command headquarters branch chief (or higher) experience is desired.

• Experience in Joint Planning Process (JPP); Military Decision Making Process (MDMP); Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) enterprise; Planning Initiation; Mission Analysis; Course of Action (COA) development; Joint Doctrine development, Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes, Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), war gaming and exercises, is highly desired.

• Familiarity with military operations, personnel, regulations, and organizations is highly desired.

• Familiarity with defense workflow processing software (TMT, JSAP, etc.) is desired.

• Familiarity with Space Situational Awareness/Space Domain Awareness, Space Command and Control, Degraded/Denied/Disrupted Space Operations Environment (D3SOE), intelligence systems and operating concepts, Integrated Joint Special Technical Operations (IJSTO) and/or multidomain operations experience is highly desired.

• Combatant command, service component HQ, and/or major command staff experience is highly desired. Combined Forces Space Component Command experience desired.

• Experience with Microsoft Office software suite preferred

Basic Compensation:

Salary Range: 140-160K

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
