Summary Description: The OC AV events support tech is an occasional position, less than 20 hours a week, except for rare occasions. This position assists with the set-up, break down, and operation of AV equipment for live events at Colorado College.

Responsibilities:
Performs set-up and operation of sound, lighting, and projection equipment. Assists users in determining event AV needs and requirements. Quickly troubleshoots malfunctioning AV equipment. Acts as house manager for events as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduate plus specialized training or equivalent work experience plus a minimum of one year of related AV experience. Ability to operate, test, and troubleshoot audio visual equipment, including data projectors, digital displays, scalers, switchers, various types of video equipment sound systems, smart classroom systems, and other AV equipment. Working knowledge of audio signal flow and gain structure. Working knowledge of basic concert/theatre lighting systems. Good judgment, ability to think critically, solve problems and work independently, and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion; excellent customer service skills. Good vision and hearing; finger and wrist dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate AV equipment and perform keyboard functions. Moderate physical effort (lifting up to 50 pounds); occasionally exerts in excess of 50 pounds of force lifting and moving objects; carrying loads up and down stairs; confined sitting; frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, climbing stairs or ladders; works inside and outdoors in all weather conditions and in dusty, noisy conditions, often at great heights; exposure to chemicals, solvents, mechanical, electrical and/or other hazards; good vision and hearing. Availability for nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado College's motor vehicle insurance carrier.
