Summary Description: The Tutt Library Circulation Night Coordinator is responsible for public services at the Circulation desk, usually from 4pm to midnight, Sunday through Thursday. This requires often being the only staff member in the building. Ability to work well with college students, make good decisions quickly and independently, and a great customer service ethic are imperative.

Anticipated Salary Range: $20.44 to $24.31 per hour

Responsibilities:

Oversee library circulation functions as a solo staff member in evening and nighttime hours, including closing the library building. Normal shift is 4pm to midnight, Sunday through Thursday, with adjustments when the library is open shorter hours during summer and other academic breaks. Provide limited help for library patrons with research, information technology, and other services in the absence of more specialized staff. Assign and supervise work for library student employees. As a member of a four-person Circulation team, communicate clearly and frequently with daytime staff and the Access Services Librarian about problems, questions, decisions, unusual occurrences, and other items of interest that happen during the night shift. Prioritize the safety of library patrons, staff, and collections by working closely with Campus Safety officers and the Tutt Library Operations Man

Additional Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

Two years of public service experience. Ability to work until midnight regularly. Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise judgement in unusual situations. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Proficient in computer operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor's degree. Library work experience. Supervisory experience. Experience working with students or young adults.
