Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the development and sustainment of the Enterprise Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) Solution. The MBSE role involves developing and managing system models that align with requirements, architecture, and technical baselines. This position requires proficiency in MBSE tools, a strong understanding of systems engineering processes, and a commitment to ensuring program success.
Please note, this position is contingent upon successful capture of the EOS contract.
Primary Responsibilities
Model Development:
Create, manage, and maintain system models using MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
Develop functional, logical, and physical views of the system architecture
Ensure models are consistent with requirements and maintain traceability to technical baselines
Systems Engineering Support:
Collaborate with systems engineers to decompose and allocate requirements to system models
Conduct trade studies and simulations using system models to inform design decisions and optimize performance
Support technical reviews, including SRR and IDRs, by presenting model artifacts and analysis results
Integration and Validation:
Work closely with software, hardware, cyber, platform, and test teams to ensure the integration of model-based designs into system implementation
Use models to validate system requirements and identify potential design or integration issues
Documentation and Compliance:
Develop and maintain documentation of system models and MBSE processes
Create VTL scripts for automated document generation
Ensure compliance with program documents and DoD standards, including DoDAF, SysML, and MIL-STD-499
Collaboration and Training:
Provide technical input and expertise in MBSE to support program teams and stakeholders
Assist in training team members on MBSE tools and methodologies as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 2 years using MBSE tools and methodologies
Proficiency in MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
Proficiency in SysML and DoDAF frameworks and standards
Thorough understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements management and architecture development
Working knowledge of satellite ground system architectures, including framework services, mission data processing, and command and control (C2) functions
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area
Certification in systems engineering or MBSE (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, OCSMP)
Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements for DoD systems (e.g., RMF, DISA STIGs)
Experience with Agile development processes and tools
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
Clearance Requirement
Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
