Focus on the Family Donor Relations Manager in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Donor Relations Manager position exists to oversee the development of mid-level donor relationships, creates, and implements strategies that result in significant funding support from the mid-level donor segment. This position will be expected to manage Donor Account Reps, processes and strategies used for cultivation of donor portfolios, including major gifts solicitation, acknowledgement, stewardship, prospect identification, and on-going communication. The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for annual fundraising and donor file health goals as set by the Executive Director, Family Advancement and will develop toolsets to measure Donor Account Rep performance against stated goals.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Partners with Executive Director, Family Advancement in the development and execution of the middle donor strategy for Focus on the Family and the establishment of annual communication and engagement calendars
Sets specific, quantifiable, and measurable performance goals for fundraising and establishes priorities
Performs constant analysis of the team and strategy and adjusts to maximize revenue
Closely monitors each Donor Account Rep’s performance, identifying roadblocks and inefficiencies, and prescribing plans for resolution. Provides the team with reports and statistical data as needed to keep them informed and accountable to measurable goals
Provides direction to a team of Account Reps, ensuring tasks align with established targets. Monitors progress toward goals and provides feedback/coaching as needed
Is responsible for mid-level donor revenue goals as set by the Executive Director, Family Advancement
Builds relationships, communicates, and connects effectively with both internal and external relationships, including participating in donor calls
Develops and executes prospect strategies to uncover new donors, some of which are managed by the mid-level reps, others are referred to other fundraising segments
Continually refines the list of accounts under management to ensure every donor is in the fundraising segment that maximizes their giving to Focus on the Family
Reviews departmental plans, processes, programs, and budgets to ensure approved objectives and goals are implemented. Partners with internal teams as needed to obtain necessary information to inform decisions
Ensures staff is appropriately prepared and motivated to complete their tasks

Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
Manages a team of 7-10 Donor Account Reps responsible for developing relationships with donors
Manages the Working Supervisor who assists the manager with day-to-day management of the team
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

Fast paced, high stress, frequent changes in process and procedures
Ability to work independently and manage a donor portfolio
Willingness to travel for occasional events and other team meetings/functions
This role may require occasional travel including nights and weekends

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
5-7 years of experience in development, fundraising, call center management, and/or sales preferred
Proven track record of successful fundraising and experience managing donor accounts
Knowledge of fundraising best practices and knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft office suite, and database systems

Salary Range: $70,716 to $81,117/yr
