Description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customer Service Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for community members. This role involves assisting with inquiries, processing payments, and ensuring a positive experience for customers in a high-traffic environment. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, organized, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting. Customer Interaction: Greet and assist customers in person, via phone, and through email. Address inquiries related to water services, billing, and policies in a professional and friendly manner.

Payment Processing: Accurately accept and process payments for water services through various channels, including cash, check, credit/debit card, and online portals.

Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer complaints or concerns, escalating complex issues to the appropriate department as needed.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions in the customer management system.

Information Sharing: Provide information on water conservation programs, service rates, and account setup/termination processes.

Office Support: Assist with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience in customer service, preferably in a high-traffic or government setting.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and customer management systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Must pass background check, drug screen, and have a valid driver's license.
