The Collins Aerospace site in Colorado Springs provides Crew Seating solutions for commercial aircraft, and in this role, you’ll support the Aftermarket section of the Crew Seating business, which includes product support engineering and engineering support for cabin refurbishment activities. You’ll gain exposure to regulatory requirements, industry standards, customer requirements, and how to operate in accordance with them. You’ll be located alongside the production of Crew Seating products (manufacturing and assembly) with the opportunity to gain an understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly by working alongside the operators manufacturing the product. You’ll be a part of a larger cross-functional team, working quickly across multiple projects and disciplines to provide quick solutions in an ever-growing and dynamic aviation industry.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform Root Cause investigations into product reliability issues

  • Design, prototype, and implement components to resolve product reliability issues

  • Propose and implement solutions to overcome spare component delivery challenges

  • Assist in cabin refurbishment engineering activities (Bill of Material (BoM) creation and release, Service Bulletin authoring, customer meetings, testing support)

  • Assist in providing technical support to internal and external customers

    What You Will Learn:

  • Aircraft seating design basic principles

  • Aircraft seating/aircraft interiors certification and qualification basic principles

  • Root cause analysis

  • Design for Manufacturing and Assembly

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

    Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Unigraphics NX or similar CAD programs

  • Basic knowledge of aerospace-grade material types/alloys and their respective properties, typically obtained via formal course instruction

  • Basic understanding of GD&T

  • Proficient knowledge using Microsoft Office products

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Must be a commutable distance to Colorado Springs, CO to work an onsite schedule. This position may be eligible for relocation.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
