Bon Secours Mercy Health Program Coordinator Clinical Education Experience – SCHS School of Radiologic Technology in Colonial Heights, Virginia

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Program Coordinator, Clinical Education Experience will provide operational leadership of clinical education experiences in collaboration with the Program Director. Procure new clinical sites to meet program needs and coordinate student clinical placement. This position will be allotted 0.5 FTE for administrative duties and will carry the remaining workload in teaching assignments unless program conditions, such as faculty vacancies, require additional teaching coverage.​

Essential Job Functions

· Creates and coordinates student clinical schedules in collaboration with Program Director

· Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical partners and other cooperating agencies. Functions as liaison between the program and clinical sites to ensure positive clinical outcomes

· Maintains current knowledge regarding clinical site requirements and processes; communicates these to faculty and program leadership

· Maintains applicable records for clinical practice including, but not limited to, onboarding documentation; attendance records; clinical affiliation agreements; and student, clinical and preceptor evaluations and registry documentation

· Establishes and implements a development program for clinical faculty and preceptors. Participates in the recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of clinical preceptors

· Establishes regular schedule and visit clinical sites to ensure adherence to program, regulatory, and accrediting standards. Functions as a clinical expert when working with students in the clinical environment

· Maintains currency of clinical knowledge and collegiate student education through participation in ongoing professional development

· Develops and implements a consistent approach and process for clinical evaluations of students and preceptor performance, in collaboration with program leadership and faculty

· Manages clinical policies and ensure students abide by clinical policies. Issues disciplinary action letters when appropriate under guidance from Program Director.

· Monitors and ensures compliance with student health requirements; follows-up with non-compliant students; and keeps Program Director apprised

· Demonstrates expertise in teaching and provides teaching as assigned in keeping with the expectations of the faculty role description

· Participates and oversees data collection for outcomes assessment process for radiologic technology program to include management of student, graduate, employer, and clinical externship affiliate surveys

Licensing/Certification

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist – ARRT (required)

Education

Associate degree - Radiologic technology or sonography, based on program hired to (required)

Bachelor's degree in related discipline (preferred)

Work experience

2 years of experience in the radiography or sonography profession (based on program hired to) (required)

1 year of experience as an instructor with an accredited radiography or sonography program (preferred)
