Job Title: Machine Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide support and demonstrate leadership on Safety and Quality in the area.

• Comply with Safety legal requirements, standards (external/internal), and others applicable to the area.

• Keep machines and working area clean and in good condition before, during, and after the shift.

• Operate, change over, and make fine adjustments to the production semiautomatic line, specifically the Box Former and/or Box Closer or Case Packer following SOP.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Follow Quality standards to ensure high-quality products.

• Contribute to the constant flow of the line, avoiding unexpected downtimes.

• Work with maintenance, engineering, and other support areas as necessary.

• Achieve standard hourly production results.

• Support line operation activities (Autonomous Maintenance (AM), 5S, Quality Checks, Line Release Audit, etc.).

• Propose improvements in production processes regarding safety, quality, and operations.

• Collaborate to maintain excellent communication with peers.

• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance, and be able to work in a 2-2-3 pattern and overtime when requested.

Essential Skills

• Experience with machine operation, ideally in box manufacturing or related fields (2-5 years).

• Minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of Quality, Safety, and Operational machine checks.

• Quality control, quality assurance, and quality check experience.

• Experience with inventory, loading, and detail.

• Proficiency in RF scanning, transportation, heavy lifting, and warehouse inventory.

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).

• Good math skills, including the ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.

• Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with computers in a manufacturing setting (EasyHMI, electronic settings, solving for faults/alarms).

• Experience with minor mechanical repairs.

• Experience with conducting preventative maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Vocational degree or technical certification preferred.

• 1-2 years of experience as a machine operator, similar to a box former/box closer and Case packer machines, and with high-speed production lines.

• Preferred experience with cardboard processing machinery.

• Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50% of the shift.

• Must be able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods of up to 12 hours/day as needed per production area.
