Job Summary
Dorman Products is seeking a Lab Technician to join our Engineering Services team. As a Lab Technician for Dorman you will performs product testing for new product development and quality investigations. Testing includes, but is not limited to: hydrostatic, thermal, tensile, and electronics tests. This role is onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
Primary Duties
Perform internal product performance testing in laboratory and create documentation
Record data from testing in standard formats and provide results to product and engineering teams
Perform Dimensional Analysis using hand measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
Maintain Lean/5S environment
Ability to problem solve
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Familiar with vehicle systems; including body, and electronics, preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Requirement : Capability to lift 40 pounds.
Working Conditions : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
Technical school diploma or Associates degree in mechanical technology preferred
0-3 years’ experience as a mechanical or test technician in a manufacturing or laboratory environment preferred
