Description
Under direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Activities Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of support duties for special events at the Wolf Pen Creek Park and other facilities, to include but not limited to assisting with associated programs, rentals activities, and coordinating events and volunteers.
Principal Duties
Assist in coordinating Parks & Recreation initiatives and direction at Wolf Pen Creek Park and other facilities which includes processing and managing reservations through center reservation system and registration software; and managing deposits/payments.
Participate in the coordination and project management phases of special events, programs, and rentals to include gathering and providing related information and promoting customer relations.
Build and maintain relationships with internal PARD departmental, with a focus on serving as one of the department’s intra-organization advocates and experts in Parks & Recreation programs and activities.
Coordinate and attend local events and programs to promote Parks & Recreation programs and events, while serving as a department liaison to citizen inquires.
Maintain an adequate supply of program specific materials, ensuring displays are stocked with current brochures and information.
Provide support with extracurricular departmental activities, special events and perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year of customer service, clerical or administrative support experience related to marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Texas Driver’s License. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate proficiency in the use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness and availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Preferred:
Knowledge of Parks & Recreation.
